Statement of Purpose

Bismillah
Two Holy Cities (Makkah and Madinah), freedom in Islamic Sharia application, amenities, harmoniuous life and technolgy advance, that is Saudi Arabia which has great  vision in 2030 that is " The heart of the Arab and Islamic Worlds, The Investment Powerhouse and The Hub Connecting Three Continents" and  I had ever seen and experienced when I was in my Umrah journey with my family last December 2015. The memory makes me want to experience again the loveable life in Saudi Arabia.

Introduce my name is Azar Rachdian, now I am 23 years old. I was graduated from Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism Bogor Agricultural University. I was graduated with GPA 3.65 and obtain "Cumlaude" citation. During the process of undergraduate programme I studied about Biology and Environment, I studied about  biodiversity, natural resources inventory, environmental impact management, environnmental polution, wildlife ex-situ and in-situ conservation, environmental spatial analyze using GIS Software consisting ArcGIs, Erdas, Google Earth, and operating GPS.

In this time I have a plan to continue my study in Life Science. I would like to observe about biofuel as alternative energy. Indeed it seem controversial for Saudi goverment in view of crude oil is the main asset there. But my aim is Saudi Arabia still can mine crude oil for fuel but not used entirely in Saudi Arabia but it can  be exported to other countries, while in Saudi Arabia it can be used bioefuel as energy source. It is performed to keep economic and environmental  quality in  Saudi Arabia. By Increasing crude oil export which has been produced as fuel will enhance country profit. Besides that by using alternative energy in the country that first it can decreas operational cost, second it can decrease environmental degradation considering alternative energy is low residue, and third Saudi Arabia can play important role in green development.

Alternative energy is formed through Photobioreactor construction with microalgae material. Microalgae is  a group from plantae kingdom with microscopic size in the amount of 3-30 nanometer. Microalgae lives in whole fresh water and sea water. Photobioreactor is reactor assembled transparently using glass, acrylic and plastic. Photobioreactor technology valued effective for reducing CO2 amount because  of microalgae ability  in absorbing CO2 when photosynthesis process in afernoon. Utilization of solar energy in microalage production is solution in renewable energy usage.  Photobioreactor development beside beneficial for producing energy it can be also tourism by designing it with attractive design with best architecture.

To support my research I choose Life Science Master Programme at King Fahd University Petroleum & Mineral. This matter I take in view of one of King Fahd University Petroleum & Mineral vision is leadership energy discoveries with the misssion creating new knowledge that makes a scholarly impact, provides innovative solutions and contributes to the national economy supported by some values especially passion and creativity. Besides that, King Fahd University well-grounded in educating both  Saudi and non-Saudi people started in 1963 until now has passed 29.015 for Bachelor degree, 3.821 for Master degree and 257 for Doctoral or Ph.D degree.


I hope and pray to only Allah for achieving this scholarship. For me developing Saudi Arabia is equal to guard Islamic scholars  and moslem life. If my research plan accepted and implemented then it can be energy source especially for electricity even more in Masjidil Haram and Masjid Nabawi which contain a lot of Islamic knowledge, Islamic scholars and Worshiping activites so I would be the happiest person in the world because of in sha Allah it will be a lot of continuing flow reward from Allah until judgment day, furthermore to King Fahd University Petroleum & Mineral Scholarship promoter.
